How can i build a wedding photography portfolio?

I am looking to build a portfolio of wedding images but I don't know where/how to do this! I am not really at the stage where I can charge as a professional and have run out of friends and family getting married, I also can not afford to hire models. Please help. How can i build a wedding photography portfolio?
Where do you live?

Place fliers around your neighborhood to offer your services for free at their next event, focusing on weddings. Also find a professional photographer who will allow you to tag along with him/her to shoot for a certain amount of hours during one of their weddings, with the consent of the couple of course. Or you can advertise a ';free 2 hour wedding photography on craigslist'; you try to find a couple who will allow you to shoot for free at their wedding, and basically get all the ';must have shots'; ceremony, first dance, cake cutting, bouquet %26amp; garter throw and so on then you are done and out of there! Give them a CD with the shots you took and you are set!How can i build a wedding photography portfolio?
Are you a churchgoer your self? If so, why not ask your clergyman/woman for a list of upcoming weddings at your home congregation? Then approach the bride and state your case?
