How do you know when it is the right time to get married?

My boyfriend talks about the future all of the time. I am getting a little antsy because we have a 4 year old together and I just want to know when is the time right? How do you know when it is the right time to get married?
When you find out how much he is worth. How do you know when it is the right time to get married?
Well, you're 4 years late. Just tell him that until you are married, he has no legal rights to the child. If something were to happen to you, the child goes to anyone before him. I have 21 years of teaching men this.

Marriage is tricky. I've never been married but have had friends who've been divorced. In fact, my two best friends are together and they have both been divorced and they don't want to get married. Decide what you want marriage to do or change. I've heard it really doesn't change much. Yes there's the piece of paper. There's the ailomony if you get divorced. How are things going now? It sounds like you two are solid, but are there arguments every few weeks? How compatable are you? Do you both say you're sorry and try to compromise? If, after honestly looking at the way you really are and the way he really is, you see that you two have some major differences, then getting married will not change those things. In fact, probably most of the trying to change will come now as opposed to later. Of course, you can't expect anyone to change. Getting married will not automatically make someone change in the ways you've hoped. I think the answer to your question is, there is no particular right time. Just like there isn't some particular right time to have a kid-you had one, now that's your life. Its probably like that too when you get married. The only one who you should be asking is yourself. Not your kid, your friend, your boyfriend.
